In the article he reports incoming students at WCU were required to read Three Cups of Tea and proceeds to encourage students to participate in life instead of watching from the sidelines. I found the commentary engaging.

Invitational Ambassador program

During the first 3 days of classes this semester, the Invitational Education committee set-up in several areas around campus to help students with questions and directions as they got started with classes. We helped hundreds of students with directions, parking passes, student handbooks, campus maps and more. It was a big success and we'll be back out there in semesters to come. If you are interested come to an Invitational Education meeting and get involved!

Invitational Education - first meeting Fall 2008

Today we had the first meeting of the Invitational Education Committee for the Fall 2008 semester. A couple of things worth noting:

Next week during the first 3 days of classes, we will have Invitational Education Ambassadors posted around campus helping students with any questions they may have. Look for us in the maroon shirts that say 'I can help!'
